Marshall Payne
Marshall Payne is a founding partner of CIC and its current Chairman of the Board. Previously, Marshall was a partner of the private equity group of Cardinal Investment Company, the predecessor of CIC, with various roles since 1983. He serves as a director of CraftMark Bakery, Pogo Resources, and Schuepbach Energy. He is a former director of SPG, L&L Foods, OmniSYS, Dale Gas Partners, Ace Cash Express (Nasdaq: AACE) and Restoration Hardware (Nasdaq: RSTO).

In addition, Marshall serves on the Board of Impact Dallas, a sponsor of for-profit impact investment funds, the first of which is the GrowSouth fund started in 2013. He has also served on the advisory councils for The Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries and the Stanford University School of Humanities, Arts and Sciences, and the Madison Council of the Library of Congress. Marshall is a graduate of Harvard Business School and Stanford University.
